High school Musicarol: Act 1, scene 3

GHOST OF GRADUATION:
[Very ghostly] Wake up, Zac Elfron! Wake up!

ZAC:
[Rustles in bed] Huh? Wh-What? Who’s there? Wh-wh-who are you?

GHOST OF GRADUATION:
[No longer ghostly] Why, I’m one of the Christmas Ghosts: The Ghost of Christmas Graduation!

ZAC:
A Christmas Ghost? Wow!  Are you going to teach me an important life lesson by transporting me to various places?

GHOST OF GRADUATION:
Why yes! You are as bright as your credentials suggest.

ZAC:
This is exciting!

Hey, do you think we can bring my girlfriend Vanessa along? She’s just the greatest. She just moved into town a few months ago and I would love to show her around.

GHOST OF GRADUATION: [with bubbly excitement]
Oh, well, sure! I see no harm in that. I’ll be back in a jiffy.
[pop] [zip]

ZAC:
Whoa, where did he go? He just disappeared.

[pop]
GHOST OF GRADUATION:
We’re back.

VANESSA: [flirtatiously]
Hi Zac.

ZAC: [surprised]
Hi Vanessa!

GHOST OF GRADUATION:
Well [chuckles] it looks like we’re all set. Hook arms with me and we’ll fly off!
Okay. Here we go.

ZAC:
Oh, this is cool—flying like this. I’m so excited I could burst into song and dance!

Vanessa:
Yeah, its like were starting a new adventure!

[Song: Start of Something New]
[scratching stops music]

GHOST OF GRADUATION:
So sorry. I hate to interrupt, but we have a busy night ahead of us so we do need to stick to the schedule.

VANESSA: [after a short pause]
Look! We’re flying right through a cloud!  It’s beautiful down there!

ZAC:
Not as beautiful as you.  Flying like this is always how I feel when I am with you.

VANESSA:
Oh Zac, You’re the wind beneath my wings.

[Song: Wind beneath my wings]

GHOST 1:
No, no, no, no! Stop that. [music fades] I mean, really. Didn’t I just say that we don’t have time for songs?

See, look down there; you can already see our first stop: Legolas’ School of Weaponry.

VANESSA:
That place? It looks like a dirty barn.

GHOST OF GRADUATION: [annoyed]
Yep, that’s our first stop: Legolas School of Weaponry.  Now we just have to go knock on the door and have a look around the place.
