The Wooden Ring (Original)

This is a scary story I like to tell my friends on those cold winter nights when the moon is just right…

In the woods of Wyoming there is an old legend about a man who once went looking for gold. He thought he could see it shining up there from his house down by the creek. He told his wife that he was going to make them rich.

“Wife,” said the man, “I’m going to make us rich.”

His wife was not too keen on the idea but she thought her husband to be a good man so she approved of his travel. She helped him pack his bags and gave him plenty of oats that he could use for food. She also gave him a ring that her grandfather found on a quest much like his own. The ring was unique because it was made out of wood.

“Keep this ring with you,” his dear wife requested. “Surely it will bring you good luck.”

The man later died on his journey because the ring was an evil ring. In fact, the wife’s grandfather also died because he had the ring too. It only goes to show you that some things don’t happen like you think they would.
