FAQs:
1. Why Porcelain Throne Books?
I like reading, but whenever I try to read a novel I have a tendency to fall asleep. Because of this, I am sometimes reluctant to start a book. So I typically would read magazines more than books (Entrepreneur, National Geographic, Popular Science, etc). This was, of course, back when people actually read magazines. I just liked having shorter articles in a format that was easy to carry around and that I could read in one…well…sitting.
Around 2008, I took a college course called “History of Creativity.” One assignment was to create something based upon historical issues we were learning. I decided to write a short story about a pirate.
Why pirates? Well, Pirates of the Caribbean was a big deal at the time and I joked with my coworkers that I was going to become a piratologist–one who studies pirates. So I thought, “Hey, I’m actually going to learn about pirates by writing this book.”
And I did.
Since it ended up being a shorter book (under 100 pages), I would joke that people it could be read in just a few bathroom sittings–just like a magazine. That’s where the idea for Porcelain Throne Books was born.
2. But do you even sell books?
I sell book.
You can buy my book Buccaneer Dan the Most Fierce and Good-Looking Buccaneer of All Time in a Quest for Treasure Part 1 on Amazon (or you can read in here on my blog). I may offer other things for sale as time by. Who knows?
3. What if I have more questions for you? How do I reach you?
Believe it or not, in this day and age I think it is important to communicate offline. Therefore, the only way to reach me about Porcelain Throne Books issues is via old fashioned snail mail.
But I’m not crazy enough to publish my personal mailing address online.
If you’d like my mailing address, please send me an email explaining what you’d like to reach me about: pirateking@porcelainthronebooks.com
